QueenDee’s Braids & Locs is a faith-driven, family-owned salon located in WorkHub Spring, specializing in African hair braiding, microlocks, and loc maintenance. Founded by Akouyo Delali “Dee” Ampiah, the business draws from over 20 years of experience rooted in Togo and Ghana, refined through years of work in North Carolina and Louisiana.

Since relocating to Texas in 2023, QueenDee’s has grown a loyal clientele across the U.S. by combining traditional styling methods with modern professionalism. A major milestone has been the bold decision to expand into a larger salon space, strategically becoming part of the WorkHub Spring Business Community, to better serve the Greater Houston area in Southeast Texas.

“As a woman of color, establishing a business grounded in faith has been my anchor through seasons of uncertainty and growth. And in a world where many women internalize the belief that success in business is out of reach, QueenDee’s stands as proof that faith, vision, and perseverance always defy convention.” Akouyo Delali

In just over a year, she’s taken on key roles in finance and operations, helping manage critical business functions while applying her academic background to real-world challenges.

Jen Jetzer – Suisse Studio Capturing Moments, Building Community

Jen’s journey into photography began right after high school in 2017. Originally from Switzerland, she moved to the U.S. as an international student, but soon realized that the traditional college route didn’t feel like the right path for her. Instead, she picked up a camera and discovered a passion that would shape her future.

She started out shooting senior portraits, graduation sessions, and family photos. Over time, that love for storytelling through imagery evolved into a full-time career in wedding photography, where she now documents some of life’s most emotional and unforgettable milestones.

Beyond her work behind the lens, Jen founded Suisse Studio, a beautifully designed photography space located in WorkHub Spring. While it’s her personal studio, it’s also a welcoming, creative environment open to fellow photographers in need of a professional setting to bring their visions to life.

Through both her art and her entrepreneurial spirit, Jen has built a space where creativity and community go hand in hand.

“There’s something incredibly special about being trusted to capture such meaningful moments. I feel honored to call this my career.” Jen Jetzer
